If you have taken a drive through the countryside lately, you may have noted that there is a familiar sight. You'll see the old classic red barn: paint chipping, construction beginning to collapse, and then you'll see a solid metal barn standing not too far away. You might wonder why, nowadays, this is such a common sight.
This is because most farms were small and run by single families less than a hundred years ago; many of them didn't even operate as businesses. Back then, with whatever material they happened to have available, farmers constructed their barns. Farms are much larger and more profitable nowadays, but still mostly family-run.
