How COVID-19 Hurt Car Markets Worldwide #infographic

In the past year, the coronavirus epidemic has had a major impact on foreign automotive markets. In the 27 EU Member States, the number of newly registered passenger cars dropped by about 24 percent in 2020 compared to the previous year. According to the German Automotive Industry Association (VDA). There were also double-digit declines in other major markets. The least sales were lost in the Chinese market: the number of new registrations here was just 6.1% below the amount of 2019.

New registrations dropped by 19 percent in Germany. The number of sales in France was down by a fifth. Italy experienced an even greater decrease of 28%, while the United Kingdom reported 29% fewer registrations.
