Safety's Lockout/Tagout
"Lockout/Tagout regulations are based on the standard OSHA 29 CFR 1910.147 "Hazardous Energy Management
Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) refers to particular practises and procedures to safely de-energize and re-energize equipment when it is necessary to perform operation or repair. Designated staff are expected to go through a series of safety measures to ensure that the computer does not unintentionally cause harm to the people servicing the machine.
Compliance with the lockout/tagout standard avoids an estimated 120 deaths and 50,000 injuries per year, according to OSHA.
Proper protocols for lockout/tagout (LOTO) save staff from serious injury and death.
