The Robert Koch Institute of Germany has estimated that about 265,000 people have been vaccinated against Covid-19 around the world, a number that includes over 114,000 residents of nursing homes. The German government and the EU Commission have been criticised for failing to order adequate doses, as well as for not distributing the current doses rapidly enough. Elsewhere, other nations are moving even more rapidly. In Israel, for example, the jab has already been received by about 13 percent of the population.
