The new earnings report from Netflix gives investors and the general public a glimpse into where the success of the world's largest streaming service - which for the first time sent its user numbers above 200 million - came from.
Unsurprisingly, much of Netflix's increase in subscribers has recently come from international markets, as North American adoption rates are already very high. The streaming service gained 36.5 million paying subscribers worldwide in the 12 months ended December 31, 2020, 30.3 million of which were based outside the United States and Canada.
