Transport has been transformed by rideshare providers including Uber and Lyft. By the end of 2018, Lyft had completed over 1 billion journeys, although by the beginning of 2019, Uber had conducted more than 10 billion trips with a much more broad international footprint.
With many people using ridesharing options, it is likely that vehicles powered by such suppliers would be involved in collisions with vehicles. When these wrecks are the responsibility of the Uber or Lyft operator, it can cause liability for injuries of the drivers and passengers of other cars associated with the crash, as well as injuries to occupants of the Uber or Lyft itself.
