According to the BBC Radio 4 programme Money Box, the number of people in their 20s with court orders for unpaid debt has been on the rise over the last year. Over 160,000 County Court Judgments (CCJ) were issued in 2019, a 30 percent increase from the year before, court records from the Registry Trust show. Increased use of payday loans, zero-hour contracts, unsustainable loans, rising rent prices and defaults due to unpaid mobile contracts was related to the rise in CCJs by financial experts. Most people don't know that a debt that they can default on is mobile contracts. In fact, the pace at which they sell this kind of debt to credit collectors has been increased by mobile providers. Recently, the number of individuals getting a CCJ for £ 100-200 of unpaid mobile bills has risen.
