According to a statement by Competition Director Ian Conner of the FTC Bureau, the Commission is aiming to 'delete Facebook's prior acquisitions of Instagram and WhatsApp,' a bold target given that, after an in-depth analysis, the FTC greenlit the Instagram deal in 2012 and that the European Commission found no danger to WhatsApp competition in a similar investigation in 2014.
