No other company wants to dig deep into its pockets and spend dollars on developing new businesses as does Google. Google has purchased all sorts of businesses, from robots, games, security service mapping, artificial intelligence, facial recognition to self-driven cars; the list is endless.

While the primary source of income for Google is online ads, Google, which reorganised itself in 2015 under a new umbrella named "Alphabet," has made acquisitions across numerous vertical lines in companies. Google purchased 200 companies as of December 2016, and Motorola Mobility is their biggest acquisition, at $12.5 billion.
