The Best Countries For Female Workers

PwC has published its annual ranking of women's empowerment and security at work in 33 OECD countries in the run-up to International Women's Day. A number of measures such as fair pay, women's ability to gain jobs and job security was taken in 2017 in the Women in Work Index 2019.

For women workers with an index score of 79.1 Iceland was named Best developed Country. The second was Sweden 76.1, while the top three were completed by New Zealand 73.6. Skandinavian countries have taken five of the top-10 positions while the biggest economies in the world are English-speaking. The United Kingdom placed 13th in eleventh place.

The United States has a significant difference, which has scored just 61.1, placing it in 23rd place. Since 2000, Luxembourg and Poland have increased the index most, and during that time, Portugal, the United States and Austria have dropped most.

PwC said that the growth of women's jobs in all OECD countries would bring tremendous economic benefits. The US, for instance, will raise the economy by $1.8 trillion to equal Sweden's women employment levels. The cumulative growth in GDP would be more than $6 trillion if all OECD countries were to imitate Sweden.
