Facebook has introduced a new feature allowing users to convert 2D images to 3D images, thanks to Facebook's ability to simulate depth of view.
Facebook has 3D options which it first released in 2018. That had already launched 3D image posts back then and later published the same for Tales. But until now, Facebook had used multi-camera features in high-end devices to allow any picture to have 3D depths. And now every machine will be able to do so with this latest addition.
The 3D Photos feature [hitherto] relied on the dual-lens ' portrait mode ' capabilities available only on new, higher-end smartphones, so it was not possible on conventional mobile devices with a single, rear-facing camera. To bring more users to this new visual format, we used state-of - the-art machine learning techniques to generate 3D images from virtually any standard 2D image.
The first thing you need to do is to update to the new Facebook version if you want to try out the addition. Tap' What's next in Your Mind?Switch on your News and go through the choices. You'll see an option to add' 3D photo,' once you tap that you'll be taken to your screen gallery where you can select an image from. Use the picture of your choosing and Facebook will convert it to 3D.
Although it isn't fully 3D, and is more like a 3D simulation, when tilting the machine it gives a similar effect.
Facebook used image recognition and object detection to make the option come alive on multiple image samples.
The latest technical innovation from Facebook will make the posts even more interesting. And in the future we would expect Facebook to plunge deeper into AR and VR, with more innovations in this area.
