Franchising by the Numbers #infographic

As well as the American one, franchises play an important role in the global economy. Nearly 750,000 franchise companies operate in the United States and employ about 8.17 million people.

For less than two years, thirty per cent of franchise owners own their franchise, while 20 per cent own their franchise for more than ten years. Less than half of franchise owners own two or more franchisees, and 12% are 34 years of age or younger.
