Sign language can be a lifesaver for people with hearing difficulties, loved ones who do and people who interact socially or professionally with others who do. However, you may be surprised to learn that there are many reasons for teaching sign language to your baby that have no relationship whatsoever with their hearing levels.
Research shows that children who grow up bilingual have unique brain configurations; they excell in a variety of topics, have better memories and executive function, and find additional languages that are much easier to learn. Odds are that with their built-in bilingual capabilities they would find a breeze to learn even the toughest languages in the world.
