Glasses and contact lenses are the two common ways to fix eye defects. Laser eye surgery erupted about four decades ago in the medical scene and joined the list of vision correction therapies. The popularity of this treatment has increased across the UK, but what's laser eye surgery, and how does it work?
Laser eye surgery is a procedure that requires the reshaping of the cornea of a patient to allow light to penetrate the eye and land directly on the retina. When extracting it during the procedure, the surgeon uses surgical instruments or lasers to reshape the cornea. Nevertheless, cutting off a part of the cornea is not the only option for the surgeon to perform laser eye surgery.
