Social media Platforms are central to every aspect of the lives of teenagers, from staying in contact with friends and engaging in politics. And their social feed is constantly refreshing that can also feel positive and negative: teenage people say that social media strengthens and distracts them from personal connections.
Their experiences illustrate the evolving social media practices of young people. They illustrate why some children are influenced more deeply by and linked with their digital worlds. The report is a representative national survey of more than 1,000 children from 13 to 17 years of age. Since it follows changes from 2012 to the present, we can see how the use of social media in teenagers continues to develop.
Social networking apps have become central to every aspect of young people's lives, from staying in touch with friends to engaging in politics. And their social feeds can continually refresh themselves as positively as negatively–teenagers claim that social media reinforces and distracts them from their connections.
