The Evolution of the Presidential Vehicles

Americans are fascinated by the manner things operate for a long time. A culture of innovators and pioneers has evolved from this fixation, with politics and vehicles being no exception. The US developed modern democracy after all, and our own Henry Ford invented the first mass-produced car, the Ford Model T.

We traced the history of American presidents through the evolution of the presidential car with interesting notes on the location of each vehicle in history and how the political climate helped form the distinctive characteristics of each vehicle. There is not much data about the recent cars as details stay classified, and the president travels using a vehicle fleet that makes a vehicle almost obsolete.

So it's no wonder Americans have constructed some fairly amazing machines at the intersection of politics and cars to serve the most strong leaders in the free globe. Our list includes the historical development of presidential vehicles from the first official government vehicle — introduced into service by President William Howard Taft — to the "The Beast" of President Barack Obama.
