One of the biggest mistakes you can make as a health care professional is breaching the HIPAA rules or the Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act. The law was first implemented in 1996 to guarantee that, while switching employment, staff had health insurance. It also aimed at eliminating fraud and using private health information illegally, and focused on privacy.
