The National Collision Database (NCDB) of Transport Canada includes information on all reportable motor vehicle collisions in Canada provided annually by the provinces and territories. Canada's federal, provincial, and territorial governments are working to enhance road safety to decrease the amount of deaths and severe accidents and to have the world's safest highways.
A decline in the amount of deaths, severe accidents, and complete accidents was observed in 2017; in reality, 2017 was the smallest count for all three of these casualty organizations since Transport Canada first gathered these information in the early 1970s.
