Inspired by the shortages of labor in the transport and construction sectors, we started this project to evaluate whether the connection between compensation and the risk of employment in those areas could possibly affect the size of the recruitment pool.
By taking into consideration the rate of fatality (a rate calculated by the BLS taking into consideration the amount of lethal accidents and the amount of hours worked) rather than just complete deaths, we can determine which beds are really the most risky and deadliest in America. We also looked at how much people in those jobs are compensated for the level of risk to which they are exposed. Also those with the greatest compensation are the most dangerous jobs? This was not the situation we suspected.
