The Trajan Column was built in 113 CE to remind Rome's people about Roman Emperor Trajan's two military victories in a battle in Dacia, now contemporary Romania. The incredible sculpted reliefs spiraling around the column recreate Dacia's campaigns including Trajan himself, addressing the soldiers, leading the military, rewarding auxiliaries, and judging inmates. The column is still in the core of modern Rome and is one of the Roman world's most admired landmarks.
